Join Mercy Gray and Jess Torres as they offer an in-depth exploration of advocacy, policy change, and direct action in the anti-trafficking and sex worker rights movements. Mercy Gray, a survivor leader of the Kapampangan people and Apache descent, brings her extensive experience providing technical assistance on LGBTQ2IA+ inclusion within anti-violence services. She has been recognized by the California State Legislature Assembly and awarded the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Hero Award. Jess Torres, a Trans Indigenous writer and educator, draws on 15 years of advocacy work to create meaningful change for marginalized and criminalized communities, with leadership roles in organizations like CAST and Rising Worldwide. This workshop will empower participants with the knowledge and tools needed to engage in policy work that impacts both federal and state legislation.
